Emerald Launch – A Message From Our Co-Founders

Dear Friends,  

We’re genuinely excited to be launching Emerald Life! It doesn’t feel like more than two years in the making, but it has been. We are very fortunate to have an incredibly talented team driving Emerald forward and owe many people huge thanks for their belief in us and in Emerald. We have learned so much on the journey to launch and look forward to sharing that with you.

We hope that this is just the first step along the road to all that is Emerald.

One of the most encouraging and motivating aspects from the last two years was undertaking increasingly detailed research, ending up in our most recent YouGov surveys demonstrating that there is a real need for what Emerald is about.

Launching with Home, Term Life, Wedding and Pet products, we feel there isn’t an insurance provider in the market who better understands the gay and lesbian community. From customer experience, to the additional LGBT-facing aspects of our policies, to the real people in our advertising and the grassroots equality initiatives we support in our partnerships, we are very proud that Emerald really is a first for gay and lesbian people where insurance is concerned.

Looking back – what started as an idea of Steve’s and progressed to a project of passion between two like-minded neighbours in Moscow, has now launched as a serious insurance provider that puts things right. And it doesn’t stop there…

There are other products that we look forward to introducing. We want to be more trans-inclusive when we can and are working with our trans advisory group on this. And there are other areas in the financial services, legal, health and retirement sectors where the LGBT community is still not receiving equality of experience. We want to be the company that changes that.

We know there’s always room to improve and opportunities to listen are critical to us.
