Everyone Makes Mistakes!
Sometimes in the rush to get ready for a holiday we forget things – like taking travel insurance! Travel insurance is highly recommended in case you have a serious injury, lose luggage, need medical treatment etc.
However with most policies you can only take them out BEFORE you travel. Not so with Emerald’s travel insurance – you can take that out AFTER you travel. Please note the start date has to be not more than 14 days after the original outbound journey date from the UK and the trip does not exceed a maximum of 31 days cover from the cover start date and the cover end date. For all trips, you must have a pre-booked outbound and return flight and the policy must cover the whole remaining duration of the trip for the insurance to be valid.
This over is only valid if a completed and signed declaration is received by Emerald stating; ‘for all persons to be insured, no other insurance is in force for the trip and there are currently no circumstances that could lead to a claim under the insurance.
The reason for this condition is to make sure that customers do not take out insurance after they realise that they may need to make a claim – again, it sometimes happens.
If you are travelling now and you need travel insurance you need to call us. You cannot take cover out online as we have to notify our underwriters, but rest assured that we will do our best. Please again do not do it online as you will not be automatically covered.
Emerald’s number is 0330 113 7109.
But more about what we can cover, once you are looking to take out cover with us…
